KEY POINTS

  • "Assassin's Creed Valhalla" is getting  a new DLC in May 2021
  • This is the first major expansion pack to arrive in the game after its release
  • Ubisoft is also rolling out a minor update to "Assassin's Creed Valhalla" today

The hit Viking-themed game "Assassin's Creed Valhalla" is set to receive a new update on April 27 that will introduce a host of changes to the game.

The "Assassin's Creed Valhalla" update 1.2.1 is 5.5 GB on PlayStation, 16 GB on Xbox Series X and 14 GB on PC. It will be available starting 5 a.m. PDT or 8 a.m. EDT or 1 p.m. BST on April 27 and will introduce a toggle that switches kill animations off. The kill animations in "Valhalla" are cool but after playing the game for more than 90 hours, they become repetitive.

There are also three new skills that players could get from the new update. These are Cold Rage, Eye of the North and Intense Rage.

Cold Rage lets players ignore hit interruptions during melee attacks. The Eye of the North, on the other hand, allows players to avoid interruptions while aiming.

Meanwhile, the new skill Intense Rage enables players to ignore interruptions during specials and parries.

All of these new skills introduced in "Assassin's Creed Valhalla" update 1.2.1 recharge after several seconds. Also, these skills are designed to prevent players from flinching in different circumstances. The rest of the patch appears to make good on Ubisoft's earlier promise of more robust updates.

The Wrath of the Druids DLC was initially scheduled for release on April 29 but has been delayed again. Earlier leaks suggested that Eivor could face a new kind of enemy in the form of a werewolf. Rumors about this new enemy started to make rounds when Twitter user Aggiornamenti Lumia shared some of the leaked DLC screenshots.

One of the leaked pictures showed Eivor fighting what appeared to be a werewolf alongside some members of the Children of Danu cult. The image also teased the possibility that Eivor, at some point, would have to work with some of the cult's members.

The "Assassin's Creed Valhalla" Wrath of the Druids DLC is rumored to release on May 13. Ubisoft has not announced the release date of the DLC, so fans have to take the leaked images and Wrath of the Druids release date a pinch of salt.
