In an astonishing perspective on the 9/11 terrorist attacks ten years ago, NASA shared footage that astronaut Frank Lee Culbertson Jr. captured from 150 miles directly above the World Trade Center in New York City.
We can see New York City, and the smoke from the fires, Culbertson said from the International Space Station. Our prayers and thoughts go out to all the people there, and everywhere else...I'm looking up and down the East Coast to see if I can see anything else.
I hope the people who are responsible...are brought to justice as soon as possible, he said.
I just wanted the folks to know that their city still looks very beautiful from space.
