Asus Transformer Prime: Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich Available Earlier Than Expected
At an Nvidia press event it was revealed that the update to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich was rolling out, three days earlier than promised for the Asus Transformer Prime.
Ice Cream Sandwich update offers a unified interface across phones and tablets, a vastly improved browser and a nicer address book with lots of smaller improvements along the way. The update makes the Asus Transformer Prime faster, adds the new font scheme, namely, the Roboto font and faster browsers.
Features of Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich include folders on the homescreen to save files and transition effect when swiping through the homescreen. However, the update does not solve GPS issues of the Prime which are reported to have been caused by the metal case.
The features of the Prime include, a mini-HDMI output, a microSD slot, a 1280 x 800 Super IPS+ Gorilla Glass touchscreen. In addition, it has a 1GB of RAM, a gyroscope, a SonicMaster audio, a 1.2 megapixel front-facing camera and an 8MP camera.
