ASUS Transformer Prime TF300T Leaked: Cheaper, Basic Version of TF201
A Thai Website has leaked details of an apparent ASUS Transformer Prime TF300T that is expected to be a cheaper and more basic version of the Transformer Prime's brand new Eee Pad,The Inquirer reported.
According to the report obtained by The Inquirer, the TF300T wll be a cross between the first two Transformer Prime models. It is likely to have a thin, rounded design, although the rear panel look more like the first generation of the Transformer Prime, according to The Inquirer.
While the report suggests the tablet will keep the 10.1 inch screen, none of the other specs or features of the tablet have been revealed, although its possible it will be a lower- end, more economical model of the Transformer Prime Eee Pad TF201.
Meanwhile, ASUS unveiled its next generation TF700t Transformer Prime at last month's CES event in Las Vegas. The tablet blew away ASUS enthusiasts with its 1920×1200 resolution that beats most laptops. The new TF700T resolution doubles that of its predecessor, which came with 1,280x800-pixels.
The new highly anticipated model also comes with an upgraded 2-megapixel camera that can be used for HD video chat. ASUS customers are hoping that the new generation of Transformer Prime will address glitches in the TF201 model that came with GPS performance issues and apparent Wi-Fi issues that ASUS has denied.
ASUS said the GPS performance issue was due to a design flaw: The ASUS Transformer Prime is made from a metallic unibody design, so the material may affect the performance of the GPS when receiving signals from satellites. Please note that this product is not a professional GPS device, and signal performance can be easily influenced by factors including, but not limited to: weather, buildings, and surrounding environments. Please understand there are limitations when using the GPS function, the Taiwanese Gadget Maker said in a statement.
The TF700T is expected to ship in the second quarter of 2012, priced at $600 for 32GB and $700 for 64GB, CNET reported from CES in Las Vegas. This could infuriate ASUS customers who only just purchased the Eee pad Transformer Prime with all its glitches.
The Eee Pad Transformer Prime TF201 is the first tablet to herald the NVIDIA Tegra 3 quad-core processor. It is ultra-thin at 8.3mm and weighs only 586g and comes with state-of-the-art SonicMaster Audio technology, an HD 8MP rear auto-focus camera with LED flash.
