Asus ZenPad S 8.0 Is Available For $199.99 In The U.S
The Asus ZenPad S 8.0 was officially unveiled in June and now is available for U.S customers for purchase through Best Buy. The retail giant is selling the slate with a very reasonable starting price tag of $199.99.
According to a report from Liliputing, the performance prowess of the ZenPad S 8.0 is better than Samsung's Galaxy Tab A 8.0. Moreover, it comes with an affordable price. The Asus ZenPad S 8.0 comes with an 8-inch LED backlight IPS display that supports a high resolution of 1,536 x 2,048 pixels.
The device is powered by an Intel Atom Z3530 chip that features a 64-bit quad-core processor. Liliputing says the chipset used in ZenPad S 8.0 is a cheaper edition of the chip that powers up the Zenfone 2 flagship. It also features PowerVR Series 6 G6430 graphics. It is supported by 2 GB of RAM. The ZenPad S 8.0 is available in internal storage variants of 32 GB.
The device supports up to 128 GB of microSD external storage. The rear camera is 5 MP and the front-facing camera is 2 MP. The device supports only Wi-Fi connectivity but does not support mobile data.
The Asus ZenPad S 8.0 comes preinstalled with Android 5.1 Lollipop. It is overlaid with the proprietary Zen UI software from Asus. The Taiwanese tech giant is offering 5 GB of Asus webstorage space for free along with 11 GB of cloud storage exclusively for the initial year. It also comes with 100 GB of Google Drive storage for 2 years.
It measures 203.by-134.5-by-6.9 mm (8-by-5.3-by-0.27 inches) and it weighs 317 grams (11.2 ounces). The Asus ZenPad S 8.0 comes in two colors, white and black, and is housed in a metallic frame. Best Buy is selling only the black version.
The rear side of the device has a leathered pattern. Its front side houses two speakers with support for DTS HD premium sound output. The 15.2 Wh Li-polymer battery can last for 8 hours of use.
