August Alsina spoke about his alleged affair with Jada Pinkett and claimed her husband, Will Smith, approved of it.
The “Kissin’ On My Tattoos” singer got candid about his relationship with Smith’s wife. He claimed that they dated and her husband was well aware of it.
“I actually sat down with Will [Smith] and had a conversation due to the transformation from their marriage to life partnership … he gave me his blessing,” Alsina told Angela Yee in an interview for “The Breakfast Club.”
Alsina, 27, met Pinkett, 48, in 2015 through her son, Jaden. Alsina and Pinkett got so close that he even joined them for their family vacation in Hawaii in 2016. They were also photographed together at the 2017 BET Awards.
“I totally gave myself to that relationship for years of my life, and I truly and really, really deeply love and have a ton of love for her. I devoted myself to it, I gave my full self to it — so much so to the point that I can die right now and be okay with knowing that I truly gave myself to somebody,” he said of his feelings for Pinkett.
“And I really loved a person, I experienced that and I know what that feels like — and some people never get that in this lifetime. I know that I am completely blessed and this conversation is difficult because it is so much, that it would be hard for people to understand but — once it starts to affect me and my livelihood — I have to speak up about my truth.”
The “Nunya” singer added that he doesn’t like drama because it makes him feel nauseous. He further added that he is not a trouble maker, contrary to what some people believe.
All the rumors about him that showed him in bad light have, he said, cost him money, friendship and relationships. “I have never done anything wrong,” stressed Alsina.
Meanwhile, Pinkett’s reps, as quoted by Page Six, have said that Alsina’s claims were “absolutely not true.”
Entertainment Tonight noted that the rumors between Alsina and Pinkett have been circulating for some time now. In fact, there were claims that his 2019 song “Nunya” was about Smith’s wife. However, Alsina denied it.
