Aunt Jemima Pancake Recall 2017: List Of Products, How To Get Refund For Possible Listeria Contamination
Pinnacle Foods Inc. issued a voluntary recall for a number of Aunt Jemima frozen pancakes, waffles, and French toast packages over possible listeria contamination Friday.
The affected products were distributed across the United States and Mexico. According to a press release by Food and Drug Administration (FDA), all distributors and customers were being notified and the products were in the process of being removed from shelves.

“The products are being recalled as a precautionary measure given the health and safety of our consumers is our top priority,” Pinnacle Foods said in a statement. The company added that “no illnesses have been reported.”
The recall was issued after listeria monocytogenes was discovered at a production plant. Listeria is an organism that can cause serious and possibly fatal infections, especially in children, pregnant women, elderly people or people with a weakened immune system, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
The usual symptoms of listeria contamination in the body are headache, stiff neck, confusion, loss of balance, nausea, abdominal pain, diarrhea and convulsions. The symptoms, however, may take between one to four weeks to exhibit themselves. In pregnant women, however, listeria infection can lead to miscarriages or stillbirths.
The Parsippany, New Jersey, company said the recall announcement applied only to the Aunt Jemima frozen products listed below. All Aunt Jemima dry mixes and syrups were not affected by the Friday recall.
The company also added that no other products produced by Pinnacle Foods, whether it was Aunt Jemima branded or Hungry Man branded, was included in the recall.
