Avril Lavigne, Mod Sun Dating: Working Relationship Turns Romantic, Report Says

Avril Lavigne is now dating musician Mod Sun after working on a song together, a report says.

Lavigne, 36, and Mod Sun, 33, collaborated on the track "Flames," which will be featured in the latter's upcoming album. Since then, they have been spending time together and getting to know each other, leading to their working relationship turning romantic.

"Working together has brought them closer and Avril has a history of falling for people that she works with. She falls in love with them for their musical creativity and expression," an unnamed source told Entertainment Tonight. "Her working relationships often turn romantic."

Lavigne and Mod Sun's rep did not respond when asked for comment on the dating news.

After releasing their track last month, Lavigne and Mod Sun have been posting each other on their respective Instagram Stories, sparking romantic rumors. Mod Sun said last week that his collab with Lavigne changed "a lot of things" in his life.

He also shared a clip of their music video on Instagram, giving Lavigne a special shoutout in the caption.

"Sending a huge thank u to everyone who has watched + shared this video over the last week! I’ve never had a song react this way + it’s really changing a lot of things in my world right now. Hard work pays off but more importantly DREAMS COME TRUE," he wrote. "thank u for everything @avrillavigne."

Lavigne and Mod Sun then fueled the dating speculations Wednesday when they were spotted enjoying dinner at BOA Steakhouse in West Hollywood. She shared a photo of their outing on her Instagram Story, writing, "Let the celebrations begin @ModSun. Thank you @BOA," People reported.

Mod Sun has been open about his admiration of the "Complicated" singer. Meanwhile, Lavigne confirmed in a previous interview that "Flames" is only the "first of many" collaborations between them.

"Avril Lavigne has one of my favorite voices in music. It's so strong and confident, yet filled with emotion and one-of-a-kind inflections that only her voice can do. This song holds a lot more weight than meets the eye. There's a very deep message within it," he told Entertainment Tonight Canada.

"Mod and I had an immediate connection from the first day in the studio," Lavigne said about working with Mod Sun. "He's an incredible artist and producer. This is the first of many."

Lavigne was previously married to Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger as well as Sum 41 rocker Deryck Whibley. Meanwhile, Mod Sun previously dated Bella Thorne.
