A 21-year-old woman in Pinellas County, Florida, was arrested Friday after police found a child in a bad state of health during a domestic dispute.

Doreen Wakefield allegedly battered her girlfriend, whose name was not disclosed, after getting into a fight with her and shoving her through a door around 2:25 a.m. Friday, WFLA reported, citing arrest documents from the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office.

The couple was intoxicated at the time and fought in front of a baby in the home, an affidavit said. The child was described as being under a year old.

Wakefield allegedly had the baby in her hands during the fight, another document said.

A deputy said that following Wakefield's arrest, the baby was found lying in their own feces "in a crib covered in fecal matter."

The baby was sucking on a pacifier covered in fecal matter and was in a blanket soaked with urine and other human waste, according to the officer.

The child was found with sores on their groin and thighs, which the deputy suggested could have been due to chafing or sitting in their own urine for a long time.

The affidavit went on to note that there was no food in the area for the child.

Wakefield was charged with neglect of a child and domestic battery.

In related news, three people in Polk County, Florida, were arrested Thursday after the death of a 34-month-old girl who weighed less than 10 pounds, CBS News reported.

The child's parents, Regis Johnson, 57, and Arhonda Tillman, 35, were among those arrested and are being held without bond on child abuse charges.

Frank Robinson, the child’s 64-year-old uncle who lived in the same house, was also arrested on charges of negligent child abuse and failure to report child abuse.

Deputies found the child dead in an inflatable pool used as a playpen Tuesday, according to an official release from the Polk County Sheriff’s Office.

The girl’s father was reportedly the one who called authorities after he found the child "cold to the touch and not breathing," the sheriff's department said.

Both the child's father and mother told investigators they had tried to feed the girl, but the child hadn't wanted to eat over the past two days.

An autopsy performed Wednesday showed that there was no food in the child's stomach and that she suffered from long-term starvation.
