'Babylon's Fall' Closed Beta Schedule And Content Announced

Game developer PlatinumGames has recently confirmed its beta release schedule and the contents of its upcoming live service, titled "Babylon's Fall."

Japanese video game publisher Square Enix and PlatinumGames announced the official dates for the rollout of the "Babylon's Fall" beta. The first phase will be available to PC gamers through Steam, while the remaining phases will include PlayStation 4 and PS5 gamers. The game's beta will be available from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. ET, Thursday.

In North America, the beta will be available from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. ET on Aug. 5, a week after it becomes available in Japan. For European servers, gamers can access the game's beta on Aug. 12 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. ET.

PlatinumGames also mentioned that character data during the Closed Beta Test of "Babylon's Fall" will not be transferred to the launch version of the game. Those who signed up for the CBT are also prohibited from sharing any information about the game. However, it assured players that "As the Closed Beta Test progresses, we will be lifting the embargo on information sharing."

Fans who signed up for the game's Closed Beta Test will get invites to different tests based on the region they declared on their Square Enix accounts. The initial phase will center on fundamental aspects of the game. This includes downloading and installing the client, registration, account authentication and early server and network tests.

The content during the closed beta test will be limited, but according to the game developer, it will gradually roll out extra content.

PlatinumGames also revealed new details about the RPG layer of the game. It said the game's beta would contain five weapon types such as Gladius, Hammer, Shortbow, Rod and Shield.

"Babylon's Fall" is the upcoming live service game from PlatinumGames. The game is scheduled to launch on PlayStation 4, Microsoft Windows and PS5.
