‘The Bachelor’ 2014 Spoilers: Who Was Sent Home In Episode 6? [RECAP]
It’s week six of “The Bachelor,” and eight contestants remain in the running for Juan Pablo’s heart. But the girls aren’t sticking around in Vietnam to form a connection with the 32-year-old single dad – they’re moving on to New Zealand!
Episode 6 will find Juan Pablo going on two one-on-one dates and one group date in the beautiful county. The end of episode 6 will send two women home, and tension remains high as all the ladies believe they share something special with the bachelor.
First One-On-One Date
Everyone wants that first one-on-one date in New Zealand – especially Clare. For “Bachelor” fans that missed last week’s episode, week 5 found things physically heating up between Clare and Juan Pablo. But Clare was shocked when Juan Pablo hit the breaks on their love affair, telling her that that their late-night swim in the ocean was a “mistake.”
“I want to feel secure again,” Clare tells the cameras in episode 6. “I want to feel like he wants me here.”
Unfortunately for Clare, she doesn’t land the first one-on-one date she wanted so badly. Instead the honors go to Andi, the only bachelorette remaining who has not had the opportunity to go on a one-on-one date with Juan Pablo.
“Let’s heat things up,” teases Andi’s date card. But before they can heat things up, the pair must cool things down … in the water!
On their date, Juan Pablo takes Andi on a speedboat to a secluded part of the river. But the duo doesn’t end up docking on the shore – instead they jump into the cold water. Juan Pablo leads Andi through a cave that becomes so narrow that they must move in a single file. And just as soon as Andi begins to have doubts about their date, they make it to their destination – hot springs and a waterfall.
After their romantic outing, they continue their date with a dinner in front of a geyser. Andi says the magic words -- “I can’t wait to have a family” – and Juan Pablo gives her a rose.
Group Date
The seven other girls are dying to be left off the group date in order to land the second one-on-one, but in the end it’s Nikki, Sharleen, Renee, Cassandra, Chelsie and Kat who find their names on the list – which means Clare is getting the time she desperately wants with Juan Pablo. Clare may be happy, but her joy comes at Cassandra’s expense. The single mom is turning 22 and thought that a one-on-one date would be the best birthday present ever. Fortunately she’s still “hopeful for a fairy-tale ending.”
For the group date, Juan Pablo takes the six girls to a large field to go in an Ogo – a giant ball that can fit three or four people and roll down a hill. After getting wet and wild with the Ogo, the bachelor takes the ladies somewhere special for their cocktail party – a set from “The Hobbit!"
With the group date rose on the line, the girls are desperate to express their feelings to Juan Pablo when they get their alone time. Nikki tells him that she’s “totally falling for him,” Cassandra opens up about how much love she has to offer and Sharleen continues to express how “inorganic” the process is and how she’s questioning a lot of her feelings.
So, who does Juan Pablo offer the rose to? None other than Sharleen, who accepts it with a “yes, sir.”
But Juan Pablo isn’t done there; instead he asks to speak to Cassandra again. The other girls believe that Juan Pablo is pulling her aside to wish her a happy birthday, but he’s actually breaking things off with her on her birthday.
“I’ve been thinking a lot,” he tells her. “Its been so hard for me because you’re gorgeous, you’re funny, you’re so nice … I wish we were in the same chapter.”
Cassandra tells Juan Pablo that she’s disappointed but respects that he didn’t make her wait until the rose ceremony so that she can get home to her son that much sooner.
Second One-On-One Date
Clare is ecstatic to clear things up with Juan Pablo during her one-on-one date, but nervous as well. “There is a difference between being honest and hurting someone’s feelings,” she tells the cameras. Clare adds that her feelings were hurt at the end of episode 5, and that she needs an apology from him in order to move forward.
Fortunately Clare got the apology she wanted during their romantic picnic. “I don’t want you to feel bad,” Juan Pablo told her. “I don’t want you to cry because of me.” “Was that our first fight?” Clare asks after they have everything cleared up. “Fights?” Juan Pablo asks. “No, I don’t like fights.”
With their relationship “reset,” the pair enjoy their picnic and later move their date to a romantic dinner by a fire. But Juan Pablo has one more surprise up his sleeve to make Clare feel comfortable again – sweatpants! The duo curl up on the couch in a T-shirt and sweatpants and it’s then that Juan Pablo offers her the date rose.
The Rose Ceremony
With so few girls still in the running, the seven remaining girls are all starting to realize that Rose Ceremonies are becoming more meaningful. Halfway through episode 6 Juan Pablo decided to let Cassandra go, but he still has one more cut to make by the end of the night.
Andi, Sharleen and Clare all have roses, and that’s making the other girls very uneasy. Nikki and Renee appear comfortable in their relationships with Juan Pablo, but Chelsie and Kat realize that they could be on the chopping block.
Juan Pablo gives Nikki the first rose and Renee the second. Down to just Kat and Chelsie, the bachelor decides to give Chelsie the final rose … sending Kat home.
“It’s a marathon, not a sprint, right?” Kat tells the cameras as she tears up. “And I just didn’t get up to speed.”
Kat’s not the only one crying. Sharleen’s also shedding some tears but not necessarily over saying goodbye to Kat – she’s feeling very confused about her feelings for Juan Pablo.
“I’m happy to be here and happy to be going on,” Sharleen expresses. “But at the same time I feel that it’s wrong somehow. I guess I feel guilty in a way.”
The opera singer continues that instead of feeling more confidant each week, she is instead feeling more doubtful.
“To be honest, I can see other girls here suiting him better,” she reveals. “I don’t want to hurt Juan Pablo.”
For the time being, Sharleen will be moving on with Nikki, Renee, Andi, Clare and Chelsie to the next destination – Juan Pablo’s hometown, Miami.
