'Bachelor' Alum Amanda Stanton Doubles Down On Domestic Violence Charge, ' Wouldn't Take It Back'
Bachelor Nation's Amanda Stanton is opening up about her life on and off the screen in her new book "Now Accepting Roses." Like most people, she admitted that she's made a few not-so-great-decisions, but one thing she doesn't regret is getting arrested for domestic violence.
The incident occurred in Sept. of 2018 when Stanton was dating her then-boyfriend Bobby Jacobs. The mother of two attended a friend's Bachelorette party in Las Vegas when she decided to keep the party going all the way back to her hotel room, where Jacobs would join them.
"With Bobby there and a group of my closest friends, I allowed myself a night off," she wrote, per Radar Online. "We weren’t in public, and we weren’t planning on driving or going anywhere. I felt that I was in a safe place, to be [sic] honest, I never let loose."
The reality star noted that she'd had a few more drinks than usual and continued, "We were all kind of being loud in the hotel room. We were there to celebrate, but never did we mean to cause a huge disturbance."
But cause a disturbance is exactly what they did because security showed up at their hotel room door and that's where things went south. Jacobs answered the door to apologize on behalf of the party when Amanda decided to take over. She "barged up to the door and 'pushed' Bobby aside to get in front of him" and speak to security.
"I don’t even know what I said at this point, if I’m being completely honest,” she revealed. "And because I made the action of pushing myself in front of Bobby, hotel security called the police, claiming domestic violence abuse."
She was arrested and taken into custody, but ultimately the case was dismissed by the Clark County District Attorney's Office in Dec. 2018. Despite her mugshot being splashed all over the media and dealing with all the internet trolls, the reality star doesn't regret it.
“Despite everything, if I could take it all back, I wouldn’t,” she wrote. "This incident has made all my relationships stronger.”
