Is ‘Bachelor’ Fake? Eliminated Contestant Corinne Olympios Speaks Out On Her Villain Portrayal
Corinne Olympios may be the most evil villain “The Bachelor” has ever known. Her behavior on the ABC series cost her a few friends, but she’s not making any apologies.
After she got sent packing in Season 21, episode 9, Corinne appeared on “Good Morning America” to clear her name. She told host Michael Strahan it wasn’t “fair” of the network to make her look like a villain. Corinne defined the term as someone who hurts people on purpose — something she’d never do.
“I was just doing me,” the Miami native said.
She maintained that she was 100 percent authentic on “The Bachelor,” admitting she has a “big personality.” Corinne blamed editing for making her look evil and vapid. “It wasn’t all so sexy and flirty all the time,” Corinne promised.
She may not see herself as a villain, but Corinne’s aligned herself with an interesting cast of “Bachelor” characters. On Feb. 20, Chad Johnson of “Bachelorette” Season 12 fame revealed to ET Online that he and Corinne had been “texting.” Chad suggested that he and Corinne bonded over their similar experiences. She confided in him when “The Bachelor” Season 21 “started getting kind of tough.”
“She’s good [now]. I think at first, she had the same emotion as me. She was like, ‘No I’m good. I got this’ and then a couple weeks down the line, I think she texted me like, ‘This is getting kind of tough,’” Chad said. “But yeah, she seems pretty cool...she obviously doesn’t care at all what anybody thinks.”
Editing may be to blame though. Corinne has expressed that sentiment before and her family backed her on it. Her mother Peri spoke with In Touch Weekly about several especially controversial moments.
She confirmed that Corinne was not topless during episode 3 of “The Bachelor.” Peri told the publication her daughter “had cover ups on” during the infamous bikini photo shoot. She added that the now-infamous trench coat scene appeared more scandalous than it was because of editing.
Corinne will get the chance to speak her truth on Monday, March 6. “The Bachelor” will bring back all the eliminated cast members for a women tell all special. Tune in to ABC at 8 p.m. EST for the 3-hour show.
