‘The Bachelor’ Fans Slam Peter’s Mom For Her Treatment Of Madison After Meeting Hannah Ann
Bachelor Nation can’t stop talking about Peter Weber’s mom Barbara following part one of his “The Bachelor” finale on Monday night. Ahead of the second half of the Season 24 closer, viewers have taken to Twitter to express their thoughts on her cameo during the latest episode.
In episode 11, Peter introduced finalist Hannah Ann Sluss to his parents, a meeting which went over swimmingly. At one point, Barbara even told Peter and Hannah Ann that they reminded her of her own relationship.
However, when it came time for his parents to meet with fellow finalist Madison Prewett, who they had previously met during their vow renewal episode, they were not as welcoming. This came after Peter expressed to his loved ones that he had faced some roadblocks with Madison during fantasy suite week.
Following both meetings, Barbara cried over Hannah Ann. “Now you have a perfect girl right in front of you and you’re going to risk that?” she asked Peter. Peter responded by telling his family they “don’t know” the Madison he does. What followed was a tearful scene from the infamous “bring her home” preview ABC has been teasing all season. Barbara’s comments ended up upsetting Peter and apparently, some of Bachelor Nation.
Several viewers also criticized Barbara for seemingly shamming Madison for her faith and decision to wait to have sex until marriage.
And it isn’t just fans of the show who have talen to Twitter to share their thoughts on the episode. Members of Bachelor Nation, including one of Peter’s own Season 24 contestants, have also shared their opinions on the platform.
However, not every viewer is anti-Barbara. Some Twitter users showed her support on Twitter.
Peter’s journey to find love on “The Bachelor” will conclude Tuesday night at 8 p.m. EDT on ABC with another two-hour installment. And according to host Chris Harrison, viewers can expect to hear more from Barbara.
