‘The Bachelor’ Fans Slam Peter’s Mom For Her Treatment Of Madison After Meeting Hannah Ann
Bachelor Nation can’t stop talking about Peter Weber’s mom Barbara following part one of his “The Bachelor” finale on Monday night. Ahead of the second half of the Season 24 closer, viewers have taken to Twitter to express their thoughts on her cameo during the latest episode.
In episode 11, Peter introduced finalist Hannah Ann Sluss to his parents, a meeting which went over swimmingly. At one point, Barbara even told Peter and Hannah Ann that they reminded her of her own relationship.
However, when it came time for his parents to meet with fellow finalist Madison Prewett, who they had previously met during their vow renewal episode, they were not as welcoming. This came after Peter expressed to his loved ones that he had faced some roadblocks with Madison during fantasy suite week.
Following both meetings, Barbara cried over Hannah Ann. “Now you have a perfect girl right in front of you and you’re going to risk that?” she asked Peter. Peter responded by telling his family they “don’t know” the Madison he does. What followed was a tearful scene from the infamous “bring her home” preview ABC has been teasing all season. Barbara’s comments ended up upsetting Peter and apparently, some of Bachelor Nation.
When your son is about to replace your #1 spot in life with another women and you can’t handle it so you become selfish and try to make madi look like the villain wooooof! #thebachelor https://t.co/YoxJu9sS2O

I vow to never have anywhere near this level of inappropriate involvement in my son’s love life #TheBachelor #GuiltTrip pic.twitter.com/ecz0fkH2xF

Several viewers also criticized Barbara for seemingly shamming Madison for her faith and decision to wait to have sex until marriage.
I have seen slut-shaming on #TheBachelor but Christianity, morals, and self-respect being shamed? Not cool, Barb. Madi standing up for her faith was everything!

I’m embarssed for Peter’s parents... I can’t stop thinking about last nights episode and the way they treated Madison because of her beliefs and values #TheBachelor

I admire @madiprew so much! For her to sit there and get lectured by Barb, continue to stick up for herself, and to surrender even though she loves peter so he can be happy. She’s amazing and deserves better than Pete in my opinion. #TheBachelor

The way peters family treated Madison was DISGUSTING. Period. Peter is willing to compromise for the person he is in love with. His family doesn’t understand that Madison is what peter needs and wants, and her morals can level him in a beautiful way... #thebachelor

Madison deserves a family who understands her morals and beliefs to the limit, without an interrogation with assumptions. #thebachelor pic.twitter.com/qnEthGBhWE

And it isn’t just fans of the show who have talen to Twitter to share their thoughts on the episode. Members of Bachelor Nation, including one of Peter’s own Season 24 contestants, have also shared their opinions on the platform.
Okay am I the only one confused why the Weber’s are making it seem like Peter is a wild nympho party animal and Madi is the bad guy because she’s a wholesome Christian woman..?

This seems backwards.. just me?#thebachelor
I’ll say it: this probably could have been handled better #TheBachelor

Barb... BARB. *Tyra Banks voice* I was rooting for you. We were all rooting for you. But girl — please, this ain’t your show, mama! Stop meddling and interfering. It’s your son’s show. Just give him your blessing, and guidance, and hope for the best. #TheBachelor

However, not every viewer is anti-Barbara. Some Twitter users showed her support on Twitter.
Listen, mommas always know best. His mom saw some flags and I and maybe all of bachelor nation can see that! She just wants what is best for her son just like every other mom come on now people. #TheBachelor
