‘Bachelor’ Finale 2017: Will Nick Viall Find Love Or Leave Season 21 Alone?
The day has finally come for Nick Viall to decide which “Bachelor” Season 21 finalist he can envision a future with. On Monday, he’ll propose to either Vanessa or Raven — but that doesn’t guarantee his quest for love is over.
Chris Harrison appeared on “Good Morning America” Monday to discuss the final episode of the ABC dating competition. He reminded the morning show’s hosts that it’s very possible Nick “might be the first bachelor in the history of this entire franchise to be left at the end.” Harrison, who has been on this ride alongside Nick and many other “Bachelor” and “Bachelorette” stars, said the hopeful romantic’s nerves were high heading into the final phase.
Harrison offered no insight into which of the two “Bachelor” Season 21 contestants Nick may be leaning toward. He told “Good Morning America” viewers Vanessa and Raven were “incredible women” who are both very different. While he wouldn’t say who Nick picks at the end of “The Bachelor,” he did admit that he’s shocked how long Vanessa lasted on the show.
“I am stunned that Vanessa made it this far,” he said. “She is a brilliant woman and I think sometimes her brain just gets the best of her.”
He isn’t the only person linked to “The Bachelor” that’s been teasing the finale. Mike Fleiss, who helped create the show, has repeatedly suggested that the last episode in Season 21 will be “historic.” Whether that’s because Nick will be the first “Bachelor” turned down or Vanessa will be the first Canadian winner remains to be seen.
Bachelor Nation is split on who will win Season 21. Reality Steve reported that Vanessa was the winner of Nick’s heart before the 2017 installment of “The Bachelor” even premiered. The pair recently butted heads over where they’d live and the values they respectively live by, which gave some reason to believe Raven was leaving “The Bachelor” engaged.
Nick has been open about the flaws in both relationships, however. After the women tell all special episode of “The Bachelor” aired, he opened up to Glamour about the drama between he and Vanessa in the episode. Nick said he had a similarly tense conversation with Raven during which he realized what hurdles they’d face as a couple.
“Raven is a bit younger than Vanessa, but at the same time she’s mature for her age,” Nick said. “Her love experience was limited in that she’s only been in one relationship. Now, that doesn’t necessarily mean she can’t have a successful relationship with her next one, but sometimes that can be a good or bad thing.”
Whether the answer to his proposal will be yes or no, Nick’s got an impressive ring picked out and ready to go. The jewelry is designed by Neil Lane and cost “The Bachelor” star a pretty penny — $93,000, to be exact. Us Weekly reported that the ring features a 4-carat diamond. No further information about the cut or design has been released.
Tune in to the final episode of “The Bachelor” Season 21 on ABC on Monday at 8 p.m. EST.
