Ben Flajnik
"The Bachelor" is down to the final two contestants! Facebook

Will Ben Flajnik buck The Bachelor trend and find true love once and for all?

Probably not, but that won't stop millions of viewers from watching him try on tonight's season premiere at 8 p.m. EST on ABC.

To be fair, the California wine maker deserves a fair shot at finding happiness after being dumped by former Bachelorette Ashley Hebert, even if the women vying for his heart this season seem more vicious than usual.

Preview clips on the ABC Web site promise plenty of fights, name-calling, and superficial declarations of love.

I just want to rip her head off and verbally assault her, one feisty brunette said about another contestant.

Of course, the women are more tender when talking about you-know-who.

Ben brings out things in me that I haven't been in touch with in a long time, one woman coos about the show's new leading man.

I truly feel like the luckiest girl in the world, said another.

Flajnik bring his own love philosophy to the show, as well.

There's some kind of weird magical force that just kind of pulls us together, he said about his connection with one of the women. Another declaration he made was I am in love with her. It was just too good to be true.

Of course, no season of The Bachelor is complete without a mean girl -- or two -- who has nasty things to say about the other contestants.

She's like a black widow, one woman said about another. And she just sucks the life out of everything.

But Flajnik looks as if he's going to stick with it, even after one contestant warns him to watch out.

There's one girl here who is very different around you than she is around the rest of the girls, she tells the upset-looking bachelor.

Judging from the previews, tensions will ride even higher with the arrival of what appears to be Flajnik's ex-girlfriend wearing a mini-dress and sporting mile-high heels.

I'm going to kill whoever comes through that door, one disgruntled blonde declared before Flajnik's (supposed) ex-girlfriend strutted into the room and took his attention.

The show's host Chris Harrison seems optimistic about the new season.

Fans will absolutely love this season, Harrison told Parade magazine. I'm very happy this is our tenth anniversary and I'm glad that we have a home run to bring to the table.
