‘Bachelor’ Star Ben Higgins Reveals Why He Didn’t Join Season 22 Of ‘Dancing With The Stars’
Now that Ben Higgins has handed out his final rose on Season 20 of ABC’s “The Bachelor,” the Indiana–native revealed that he has big plans for himself and his fiancée Lauren Bushnell. And unfortunately for “Dancing With the Stars” fans, it doesn’t involve the foxtrot or the tango.
During a press conference with reporters, Ben revealed why he decided against busting a move on Season 22 of the hit dance competition — an idea he previously toyed with during an interview with E! News.
“I’m not against any opportunity that presents itself,” he told the outlet earlier this month, adding that he was open to making his ballroom debut if competing on the show was the “best thing” for him.
But it looks as if the “best thing” for Ben’s future is to spend time with his wife-to-be.
“My focus was not on what was next, it was on Lauren and [me] and any decision that was made post, you know, the show. ... Whatever decision was made next for our relationship was based on what was best for us,” he explained to reporters during a press call Tuesday, revealing why he opted out of “DWTS.” “And I believe that what's best for us right now is really kind of strengthen who we are as a couple and spend as much time together as possible.”
One activity the duo is looking forward to now that their relationship is public is to grab some grub together! During ABC’s “Live with Kelly and Michael,” Lauren dished that she’s excited to finally go out on dates with her man, as well as little things like hitting the supermarket.
“I want to go grocery shop,” Lauren said, revealing that she’s itching to doing the simplest tasks as long as she can do them with Ben by her side.
Although Ben won’t be hitting the ballroom, viewers can watch Season 22 of “Dancing With the Stars” on Monday, March 21, at 8 p.m. EST on ABC.
