‘The Bachelorette’ 2014 Spoilers: Did Andi Dorfman Get Engaged In The Season Finale? Find out Who Won Season 10 [RECAP]
Andi Dorfman’s journey on “The Bachelorette” came to an end on ABC on Monday, July 28. During a special three-hour event, the 26-year-old Atlanta beauty introduced her two leading men – Nick V. and Josh M. – to her family, went on her final one-on-one dates … and chose the contestant who she wanted to spend the rest of her life with.
Meet The Parents – Nick V. Edition
Nick V. had the opportunity to meet Andi’s family first in the season 10 finale of “The Bachelorette.” The 33-year-old software sales executive may have been cocky throughout the entire journey, however that got thrown all out the window when he faced her parents, Patti and Hy.
Patti, Hy and Andi’s sister all acknowledged that Nick seemed nervous and reserved when he first walked in. But after a little while, Nick warmed up and began to open up a little about his relationship with Andi. The bachelor confessed that he’s in love with Andi, and didn’t know that he could love someone as much as he loves her.
Speaking with Hy privately, he asked him for his approval and blessing to ask for Andi’s hand in marriage – “assuming that she will say yes.” And while Hy was initially silent, he said that he’ll support the pair of them if Andi chooses to be with him.
Meanwhile Andi sat down with her sister, and expressed that the passion between the pair is undeniable. But is passion enough for Andi to choose Nick over Josh?
Meet The Parents – Josh M. Edition
Josh M. followed after Nick in meeting Andi’s family. But before the 29-year-old former pro baseball player could introduce himself to the crew, Andi thought it best to warn her family about him. Acknowledging that she has a history of choosing the wrong men that fit Josh’s profile, Andi told her family that he is the complete opposite of that … but Hy was still cautious to see if Josh really was different.
Like Nick, Josh was extremely nervous. However where Nick chose to act reserved, Josh was a loud and “chaotic,” according to Patti. Andi’s family warmed up to Josh, and Josh used his time with them to make it clear that he was head over heels for the bachelorette.
“She’s the most beautiful girl I’ve ever seen in my entire life,” he revealed to Hy. “I’m totally in love with her.”
And while Hy questioned if his feelings were just a “camp” love, Josh confirmed that it’s not “just some little romance.”
“In a few days I would love to propose to your daughter,” Josh told her father. “It would mean the world to me to get your blessings.”
And Josh got it! Hy said that he’d welcome Josh into the family if it was what Andi wanted.
Final One-On-One Date: Josh
Following his meet the parents date, Josh had the opportunity to have his final one-on-one date with Andi. The pair spent the afternoon on a yacht, where Josh told Andi about his conversations with her family. Andi was charmed over what he revealed, however she was still nervous that Josh was too good to be true. But when she asked if he had any last thoughts or questions, Josh assured her that nothing would change the way he was feeling.
“Andi, I just want to let you know how blessed and thankful I am to have you in my life,” Josh read from a love letter he wrote her. “I can’t wait for the day when I can call you my wife.”
The love letter accompanied a small gift – Andi’s very own baseball card. But the baseball card didn’t say Andi Dorfman. Instead, it read Andy Murray.
Featuring a photo from their hometown date on the baseball field, the card contained stats about their romance. According to Andi, it captured their relationship and was beyond romantic – a gesture that solidified everything that Josh has said up to that point.
“This man impresses me,” Andi told the cameras. “This shows me he is ready … a guy does not put his last name on a girl if he’s not ready for it.”
Josh ended the date by telling the cameras that he can’t imagine his life without her. And while Andi went home happy, she was still questioning whether it was too good to be true.
Final One-On-One Date: Nick
Nick had the final one-on-one date with Andi, and the pair went off-roading before enjoying a romantic picnic in the sand. The bachelor opened up about feeling comfortable and loving her family, and told Andi that he doesn’t think it could have gone any better. He seemed confident while on his date – however he told the cameras that he’s not proposing if he’s doesn’t know it’s him that Andi wants to be with. With his previous engagement in the back of his mind, Nick confessed to being nervous. Andi simply smiled, and for Nick that was all he needed.
“I can’t wait to go grocery shopping with you,” Nick told Andi.
Before Andi left, Nick had a surprise in store for his ladylove. Andi opened up the box and found a necklace inside. The necklace featured a vial of sand from the beach where Nick first told her that he loved her.
Andi put the necklace on and left Nick’s room, telling the cameras that she made her decision and knows what she has to do.
Pre-Rose Ceremony Drama
Josh met with Neil Lane to pick out an engagement ring, and Nick was meant to be next. But when Nick answered a knock on his door, it wasn’t Neil Lane … it was Andi.
Andi told Nick that she just wanted to come chat – but Nick’s face acknowledged that he knew what was coming.
“The last time you got engaged you woke up that morning and you didn’t feel like something was right,” Andi told Nick. “And I woke up this morning and didn’t feel like something was right. And I cant go through with something that I don’t think is right … that the feeling is not right.”
Nick was silent and Andi continued, explaining that ultimately she doesn’t think that this is what’s best for them. But then Nick finally got the courage to speak. “When did you start feeling this?” he questioned her. “When I told you that I love you … I don’t know how you could look at me the way you did. I took it that you meant it.” Andi told him that she did mean it, however it still wasn’t enough.
“I just hope that you’re a million percent sure and not scared,” Nick told her. But Andi was certain, and left Nick.
Nick packed his bags and left the Dominican Republic hotel, telling the cameras that she took things too far.
“I really thought this was it,” Nick said in the car. “I really thought she loved me.”
The Final Rose Ceremony
Despite sending Nick home, Andi was still nervous about seeing Josh in the final rose ceremony. However Josh wasn’t nervous at all.
“I want this future so bad,” he told the cameras. “For Andi, for myself … I love Andi more than anything. This is just a very big day for both of us.”
Meeting Andi by the water, Josh told her that he knew a greater love existed somewhere when he gave up baseball – and that greater love was her. Andi countered by telling him that she loved him from the moment she first laid eyes on him.
“I love you, and I’m madly in love with you,” she said, telling him that she can’t wait to spend the rest of her life with him and have his babies.
Getting down on one knee, Josh pulled out the Neil Lane ring. “Andi Jeanette Dorfman, will you marry me?” he asked. And Andi said yes.
"The Bachelorette" ended with Josh accepting Andi's final rose, and the pair enjoying their engagement.
