?Bachelorette? Emily Maynard Accused of Diva Behavior, Plastic Surgery And Gold-Digging
Season 8 of ABC's reality dating series, tugged at America's heart strings when she first appeared on The Bachelor and disclosed her personal struggles to the world. But, Maynard's character is currently being questioned as critics accuse her of diva behavior, plastic surgery and gold digging.
Emily Maynard was chosen as The Bachelorette for Season 8 because of her immense popularity during Season 16 of The Bachelor. The beautiful 26-year-old from North Carolina revealed that her high school sweetheart, racecar driver Ricky Hendrick, died in a tragic plane crash in 2004 just days before she found out she was pregnant with their daughter. Maynard gave birth to Josephine Riddick Ricki Hendrick on June 29, 2005.
Brad Womack offered Maynard his final rose and a $50,000 Neil Lane engagement ring; but the love quickly faded and the two broke it off last year. Then, the lovely southern belle was chosen as the next Bachelorette.
She got difficult, a show source told Us Weekly. She knew she was the star, so she became a bit of a diva.
Once she was chosen by ABC, Maynard reportedly began to try and play hardball during salary negotiations. Emily told [producers] she wanted $750,000 and they said no way but she settled for something higher than $100,000, probably around $150,000, the source added.
Emily Maynard's popularity during Season 16 of The Bachelor paid off. Literally. The new Bachelorette reportedly signed a contract with ABC for $250,000, according to WetPaint. This is more than twice the base salary paid to Bachelor and Bachelorette stars, the website reported. Ashley Hebert, who starred in Season 7 of The Bachelorette, reportedly received $100,000 for her tenure.
Along with the giant salary, Emily Maynard reportedly received an astronomical wardrobe budget. The new Bachelorette scored a $350,000 ticket for her Season 8 clothing.
We had an enormous clothing budget, the show's stylist, Cary Fetman, told In Touch. It was bigger than any previous season - and we still went over! She loves to be a girlie girl. She loves dresses and anything glitzy and sparkly. Some of the top-shelf items include $1,045 Christian Louboutin Straratata heels and a $40,000 Randi Rahm gown.
Salary and wardrobe aside, Emily Maynard's physique has also come into question.
Skeptics have speculated that Maynard went under the knife. A source alleges that this is, in fact, true. The single mother supposedly underwent plastic surgery in 2010 before appearing on The Bachelor. She reportedly had breast implants, veneers, Botox and a nose job.
Sources say that Maynard is using her beauty and charm to find herself a rich bachelor.
Emily is a bit of a social climber. She has dated some heavy hitters and she started to get a bad reputation around town. She's well-liked now, but it did take away, a source told Us Weekly, according to RadarOnline.com. Money is important to Emily, someone close to the show explains. It played a big role in how she viewed guys on 'The Bachelorette.'
Maynard's late husband, Hendrick, was reportedly worth $15 million when he died. Ever since then, she continued to date men with substantial net worth. The blonde beauty has been linked to country singers Jake Owen and Jerrod Niemann as well as race car driver Dale Earnhardt, Jr.
Brad Womack shed some light on his relationship with Maynard, saying that he dodged a bullet by breaking it off with the young mother.
