‘Bachelorette’ Kaitlyn Bristowe Reveals She Knew Shawn Booth Was ‘The One’ The First Night
The show doesn’t always have the best track record when it comes to building lasting love connections, but former “Bachelorette” star Kaitlyn Bristowe is now admitting that there was never a question in her mind when it came to choosing her now-fiancé, Shawn Booth.
During an appearance on fellow alum Olivia Caridi’s podcast “Mouthing Off With Olivia,” Kaitlyn admitted that her appearance on the 2015 season of the reality franchise was one where she never doubted who she wanted to be with, because she knew Shawn was the man for her after meeting him on the first night.

“I actually thought I knew night one and I just hoped from that moment on... I think I made the mistake of admitting it was him from night one [to producers],” she said. “I said right away, ‘Game over, it’s that guy, no questions.’”
She even admitted that she tried to bend the rules of the show and keep asking Shawn on dates during the filming, but producers stepped in and told her she had to also acknowledge the other guys in that same manner as well.
“They’d be like ‘You can’t. All the guys are going to walk out if you keep picking Shawn,’” she said. “I obviously had feelings for other people... I was very good at being in the moment with each guy and after each one, I’d always feel so guilty because of how strong my feelings always stayed for Shawn.”

Things eventually worked out for the pair, as Shawn eventually proposed to Kaitlyn, and the two have been together ever since. However, despite celebrating two years together earlier this year, the pair still have yet to set a wedding date and are in no rush to get to the altar.
“We aren’t in any rush, but that has a lot to do with planning and us just not having time,” she told Entertainment Tonight in February. “I don’t question my relationship with him, and I don’t know why... We’re more excited to have babies than we are to like, sign a piece of paper. But at the same time, I can’t wait to marry him.”
“There were so many times [we almost got married]. Like, we were in Hawaii and we were like, ‘Should we just get married?’ I think at the time, ‘Bachelor’ still owned the rights to our wedding, though,” she added.
Both Kaitlyn and Shawn have been open about their decision not to rush to the altar, and seem to be enjoying their time together as a couple in general, including poking fun at one another’s mistakes.
After Kaitlyn accidentally got Shawn’s age wrong while celebrating his birthday, he had fun with her mistake when her own birthday rolled around in June, something he joked about on Instagram.
They have yet to announce a wedding date.
