The couple who fabricated the Balloon Boy story to gain publicity were each sentenced to jail term.

Richard Heene was sentenced to 90 days, including 60 days of work release that will let him pursue work as a construction contractor while doing his time.

His wife Mayumi Heene received a 20-day sentence which will be served after her husband's term. Each was placed on probation for four years.

This was all done for the purpose of making money, District Judge Stephen Schapanski said. The judge ordered that the Heenes could not profit directly from his crime.
