Bamboozle 2012: What, When and Where Is the Music Festival?
The Bamboozle Festival is a three day festival taking place from Friday, May 18 to Sunday, May 19 at the Convention Hall in Asbury Park, New Jersey. Celebrating its 10 year anniversary, the festival is returning to its roots in Asbury Park where it originated in 2003. In 2005 the Bamboozle festival had been moved to the Meadowlands Sports Complex.
Headliners for the festival are Skrillex, Incubus, Mac Miller, Foo Fighters, Blink-182, Bon Jovi and Brand New. Overall, around 84 acts will be gracing nine stages, with the website guaranteeing fans that all bands will be given full sets.
The festival draws in around 50,000 to 100,000 people. Tickets are currently on sale and are available for single days or a three day pass. On Friday, May 18, the gates open at 5:30 p.m. with after parties beginning at 10:30 p.m. On Saturday, May 19, gates will open at 2:00 p.m. with after parties kicking off at 10:30 p.m. On the final day of the festival, Sunday, May 20, the gates will open at 2:00 p.m. with the after party at 10:00 p.m.
Bamboozle doesn't allow camping out for the three days, but the site lists hotels that are in the area. The festival also does not allow re-entry, but with delicious food vendors offering anything from vegan food to funnel cakes, there is no need to escape the music filled venue.
Asbury Park is located just 60 minutes by car from New York City, and 75 minutes by bus or train. The Convention Hall is a short 10 minute walk from the Asbury Park train and bus station. A free shuttle bus will also be available for those residing between Belmar and Long Branch.
