Barack Obama spoke about his temper and shared his advice to his daughters for them to perform better.

The former president of the United States was so cool and calm that the press sometimes called him “no drama Obama,” but they didn’t mean it kindly the whole time. When he spoke at a tech conference in Salt Lake City, Utah, in 2019, the ex-POTUS spoke about his temper.

“I have an even temperament and I don’t get too high and I don’t get too low, but that doesn’t mean that throughout the presidency and throughout my professional career that there weren’t times when I was constrained by, ‘Man I don’t want to screw this up. I don’t want to let people down. I don’t want to be seen as having made a mistake or having failed,’” Obama said.

He admitted that his leadership improved on his second term because he learned many things on his first term that helped him perform better. He stressed that it had nothing to do with analysis or policy but more on what came with his career.

Obama said that the repetition and familiarity with the nature of the problem and his being focused on the task along with the self-consciousness that came with it made him perform better. He also didn’t mind the poll numbers and pundits. He just kept himself focused.

“One way I describe it to my girls is, ironically, by taking your ego out of what you do, it will liberate you and you can ultimately perform better and more comfortably,” he shared on what he tells his daughters to help them perform better.

Obama and president Donald Trump are deemed polar opposites because they have different perspectives. However, both are equally praised as the two gentlemen were named as the Most Admired Men of 2019.

According to Sandep Gopalan of The Hill, Obama and Trump are not that different at all. In fact, they possess similar leadership traits.

In related news, Keith Boykin believed that the POTUS is envious of Obama. According to the TV presenter, the president spent eight years lying about Obama from his birth certificate to his form policy. When Trump got the office he still did the same thing about Obama.
