Barack Obama has shared his thoughts on coronavirus after reportedly following a porn star on Twitter.

The former president of the United States encouraged Americans to stay at home by sharing an article from The Washington Post showing a simulation on how the COVID-19 growth curve flattens by social distancing.

“Watch this. It shows why we should all do the right thing and stay home to the fullest extent possible. All of us can help slow the spread of the virus, protecting the elderly, the vulnerable, and each other,” Obama wrote.

“Not everybody can stay home, and we owe a big debt of gratitude to health professionals, transit and airport workers, first responders, and everyone keeping our communities going. Leaders have to step up to support people whose lives and livelihoods take a hit in the weeks ahead,” he added in another tweet.

Obama’s move was praised by many as it opposed how President Donald Trump handled the situation. Trump said earlier that the reports were exaggerated and was only inflamed by the fake news media and Democratic Party.

“I wish you were our President right now,” @CoreyinNYC commented.

“Thank you, President Obama. You are sorely missed,” @Denise82031906 wrote.

“Thanks Mr President ! You will be missed and much more than usual in these dark days . . .We - the people and the world - are waiting for a rainbow,” another added.

Obama tweeted about the pandemic disease just a day after the media reported that he has been following porn star Sara Jay on Twitter. On Saturday, Twitter fans of the adult film star noticed that the former POTUS was one of her 1.1 million followers and joked about it. One said that he felt more connected to Obama because they are both following Jay. Another said that maybe Obama thought he was using his incognito account when he followed her.

However, some netizens also defended Obama. According to @CynVira, Obama also followed him back on Twitter, but she believed that he didn’t check her profile because Obama automatically followed back. She added that most of the people Obama followed were due to staffers expanding his social media reach.
