  • Harry Kane is contracted with Spurs until 2024
  • He has netted 215 goals for Spurs
  • He will decide his future at the end of the 2020-21 term

Tottenham superstar Harry Kane is reportedly wanted at FC Barcelona amid the player’s links with Manchester United and City.

Kane, who is contracted with Spurs until 2024, is seriously considering leaving his boyhood club. Several clubs are in touch with his representatives, including La Liga giants Barcelona, according to Teamtalk.

“It is our information that Kane is seriously considering moving away from Tottenham Hotspur. As a result, other clubs have been in touch with his representatives. We understand that the one that is most attractive at this moment in time is Barcelona. Barcelona are a team who are behind in La Liga and who are experiencing by their standards a bit of a poor season," Transfer Window Podcast's Ian McGarry was quoted by Teamtalk, as saying.

Spurs are having a rough season under Jose Mourinho. While the North London club is alive in the League Cup, the side will most likely finish outside the top four in the 2019-20 Premier League. They also suffered shameful elimination from the Europa League, which Kane had described as embarrassing.

Kane graduated from Spurs’ youth set up in 2009 and was sent on loan to a few clubs before finally becoming a regular member of their squad. Since the 2013-14 season, Kane has been a part of the Spurs’ senior team. With 215 goals in 327 competitive matches, Kane is second on the list of Spurs’ all-time leading goal scorers. Unfortunately, he is yet to win a single trophy with Spurs and the striker recently admitted that he will review his future at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium at the end of the 2020-21 campaign.

Kane, who has been labeled with a hefty transfer fee of $165 million, would want to next join a club that would guarantee him a trophy in order to put himself in the same level as some of the greats of the sport. While he is being chased by both the Manchester clubs, history suggests that Spurs chief Daniel Levy has always preferred to sell his players to an overseas club instead of direct rivals in the Premier League.

The likes of Luka Modric and Gareth Bale were both linked with Manchester United at one point before the two were eventually sold off to Real Madrid. It would not be surprising if Kane ends up landing at Camp Nou or Santiago Bernabeu in the near future. But Kane won’t come for cheap and considering he still has three years left on his contract, Spurs will certainly hold leverage in negotiations.
