Barclays Analyst Leaks Three Major iPhone 12 Specs
Chipset upgrades are a staple of iPhone releases, and next fall, consumers can expect that the iPhone 12 will have a more powerful processor. An analyst reveals that the processor of the next generation iPhone will prop up more memory than the tech giant’s ever put in on its flagship handsets. The details surface following Barclays Analyst Blayne Curtis’ recent trip to Asia meeting with several Apple suppliers.
Picked up by MacRumors, Curtis’ report states that the iPhone 12 Pro versions will be equipped with 6GB of RAM. Additionally, the report reveals that both iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max will sport rear-facing 3D sensing cameras and will have high-performance 5G mmWave connectivity support. While Apple does not disclose iPhone memory, a recent teardown and previous regulatory findings reveal the exact amount of Random Access Memory (RAM).
In the case of Apple iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max, both have 4 GB of RAM. In other words, a 6 GB RAM on iPhone 12 is a step up despite that it is far from the 8GB RAM of OnePlus 7T and Samsung Galaxy Note 10. An additional RAM will help the iPhone 12 in smooth and quick switching between apps.
The iPhone 11 houses the A13 chip, arguably, the fastest mobile chipset we have as of the moment(based on benchmarks). Which only suggests good things about the upcoming A14 Bionic chip on the iPhone 12. Blayne Curtis’ report also includes good news about the more affordable compact smartphone from Apple, the iPhone SE 2. The highly-anticipated handset, according to Curtis, is in the pipeline and will be in the production phase by February 2020.
The heavily speculated Apple handset is rumored to resemble the iPhone 8 equipped with a Touch ID home button and a 4.7-inch display. It will reportedly house a faster Apple A13Bionic chip and 3 GB of RAM. Meanwhile, the upcoming iPhone 12 series is anticipated to be released in September 2020 based on the release pattern of the Cupertino-based tech giant.
The more affordable iPhone SE 2 is anticipated to be released in March 2020. So far, Barclays has a proven track record in releasing details about Apple and its upcoming products.
