KEY POINTS

  • Barron Trump likes to dress up in tie
  • Melania and Donald Trump do not have the same approach when it comes to parenting
  • Barron is Melania Trump's priority

Barron Trump likes to dress up like his father President Donald Trump.

According to Nicki Swift, Donald and Melania Trump’s only son has been dressing for success pretty much his entire life. When Barron was only 3 years old, he wore a suit for the launch of his half-sister Ivanka’s book. Melania has confirmed that her son loves to dress up.

“He’s not a sweatpants child. He doesn’t mind putting on [a suit] but not everyday, and he likes to dress up in a tie sometimes like daddy,” Melania told ABC News in 2013.

Barron also knows how to dress for comfort. In fact, he has been spotted wearing his prep school uniform with customized New Balance sneakers that reportedly cost $149.

Barron has changed Melania’s life following his arrival. According to Kate Bennett in her book “Free, Melania: The Unauthorized Biography,” the FLOTUS always considers her son whenever she has to make a decision, from staying off the social radar to refusing to move into the White House. Barron is also one of the reasons Melania doesn’t take too much work.

“Barron soon became Melania’s reason for staying off the social radar in New York, then her reason for avoiding her husband’s presidential campaign, and ultimately, her reason for not moving into the White House after she became first lady of the United States,” Bennett wrote.

Melania is very hands-on when it comes to Barron. However, Donald is the complete opposite. In fact, the POTUS said even before they welcomed a son that he didn’t want to make his baby’s food or change his diapers.

Shortly after welcoming Barron Melania said that she fed him, changed him and played with him. As for Donald not being a hands-on parent, it wasn’t an issue for the first lady.

Meanwhile, the POTUS is very confident of Barron’s potential. In his speech when he took a shot at Sen. Elizabeth Warren, the businessman-turned-politician said that his son, Barron, could get a bigger crowd than Warren.
