You don't have to be in France to fête Bastille Day this weekend and next week.
July 14th is the official French 'Independence Day' (ou, La Fête Nationale) - the 222nd anniversary of the day French Revolutionaries stormed the Bastille, and demanded their rights as outlined in the Declaration of the Rights of Man and of the Citizen.
As July 14th falls on a Thursday this year, many Bastille Day celebrations around the world will take place this weekend.
