“Bates Motel” is back … in January 2014. But to hold you over the A&E series has released a brand new promo video and it will definitely send shivers down your spine.

The new teaser promo kicks off with the Billie Holiday tune, “Guilty.” As the music plays viewers can see the back of Norman as he carefully works on his new hobby – taxidermy.

Sewing up some sort of skin (that honestly looks like human flesh), his work table is riddled with rogue teeth which are definitely from a human. Appearing to cut off a lock of his own hair, the end result of his spooky and morbid project is actually kind of sweet … it’s the house that he shares with his mother, Norma.

As we previously reported, season 2 will pick up during the summer. For White Pine Bay it’s key tourist time, but that doesn’t mean the Bates Motel is overflowing with customers. Viewers will remember that a freeway bypass away from the motel was being built, and while it was only briefly mentioned in season one, the bypass will be a storyline in season 2.

Season 2 of “Bates Motel” will also introduce a series of new characters. Fans can look forward to meeting George, a “charming divorcé” who catches the attention of Norma; Nick, the revenge driven father of Norman’s teacher Miss Watson (or “B”); and Caleb, Norma’s estranged brother who used to sexually assault her.

“Bates Motel” will be “re-opening” in 2014, but in the meantime check out the spooky new trailer below.
