‘Bates Motel’ Season 5 Star Nestor Carbonell Thanks Vera Farmiga On Twitter As He Wraps Filming On A&E Series [PHOTOS]
Nestor Carbonell is done filming “Bates Motel.”
Carbonell had his last shooting day for the A&E series on Friday, Jan. 27. And to mark the event, his co-star Vera Farmiga took to Twitter to thank the actor for “adding so many phat calories” to her life. Varmiga’s tweet came with a photo of dolls which resemble their “Bates Motel” characters, Alex Romero and Norma Bates.
Minutes later, Carbonell also shared a photo of a pair of dolls which seem to be recreating the morgue scene between Alex and Norma in Season 4. In the caption for the snapshot, Carbonell thanked Farmiga for her incredible portrayal of Norma and for making the “Psycho” prequel series “bloody hard” for him to top.
In a separate tweet, Carbonell thanked the rest of the cast and crew — except Norman Bates actor Freddie Highmore (jokingly) — for a great five years of “Bates Motel.”
Executive producer Kerry Ehrin replied to Carbonell’s tweet, thanking him for all the time and effort he had given to the show.
At the end of the Season 4 finale, Carbonell’s Alex was arrested by the DEA after he lied about his relationship with his former girlfriend, Rebecca (Jaime Ray Newman). When Season 5 picks up almost two years after, Alex is itching for a chance to destroy Norman to avenge the death of his wife Norma.
“He has a great arc,” Ehrin told Yahoo TV of what’s next for Alex in the final installment. “Last season, we had the toughest guy in the world take his shell off and then get sucker punched when he lost Norma. He’s going to have a very extreme reaction to this, and what he feels he needs to do about it.”
“Bates Motel” Season 5 premieres on Monday, Feb. 20 at 10 p.m. EST on A&E.
