“Batman: Arkham Knight” will launch this fall, but the game’s main antagonist, the Arkham Knight, remains shrouded in mystery. London-based developer Rocksteady has remained tight-lipped about who exactly the knight is, but many fans are sharing their theories on the identity of the anti-Batman.

“It’s been really exciting for us, that opportunity doesn’t come along very often … to design a character in Batman’s world,” Rocksteady Brand Marketing Producer Dax Ginn said in a video interview with Outside Xbox. “For him to be such an exciting part of the story and the Arkham universe, it’s such a thrill.”

There are also rumors that the main protagonist of the game isn’t Bruce Wayne, but his son, Damian Wayne. Retail store Best Buy created a post on Twitter on March 30 about the upcoming action-adventure game, saying, “Masked as Bruce Wayne’s son, drive the Batmobile & defend the city from notorious villains.” The tweet has since been deleted, but it remained viewable until April 3.

Of course, the tweet could have been posted in error. Perhaps the writer meant Thomas Wayne’s son, which would be Bruce Wayne. If not, this could mean users will be playing Damian Wayne, the son of Bruce Wayne and Talia al Ghul, the daughter of Batman’s villain Ra’s al Ghul. Both plots are possible and would coincide with the “Father to Son” trailer, which launched March 4.

Who do you think the Arkham Knight is? Below, we weigh some possible theories.

The Joker

Though the Joker died at the end of “Arkham City,” it wouldn’t be out of character for the Clown Prince to fake his own death. The Joker is usually pretty open about his identity when causing trouble, so we’re not too convinced on this one.

Bruce Wayne

This theory’s kind of out there, but if you’re playing as Damian Wayne, Bruce Wayne’s son, you may be facing a dark, evil version of Bruce Wayne gone bad. Hey, years of fighting crime and having Alfred bring you the wrong tea can really turn a hero into a super villain.

Robin

Rocksteady’s done crazier things in its “Arkham” series. Perhaps Dick Grayson grew tired of wearing the less cool outfit and playing sidekick to the Dark Knight and went to the dark side. Grayson plays the original Robin in the “Batman” comic book series, eventually retiring and transforming into Nightwing.

Damian Wayne

If Batman is actually Bruce Wayne in “Arkham Knight,” then his enemy could very possibly be his son, Damian Wayne, who is portrayed in the comics as violent, self-centered and deadly. In the DC comics, Damian is trained by the League of Assassins, the same group that Batman’s enemy Ra’s al Ghul controls.
