'Battle Of The Exes 2' Cast: Meet The 13 Teams From Season 26 Of MTV’s 'The Challenge'
"The Challenge" is back! And this year, MTV willl be pitting some of the program's most famous exes against one another for "Battle of the Exes 2." Unlike previous installments, Season 26 will give fallen teams the chance to return to the game and score the $350K grand prize. This time, it won't only be "The Real World" and "Road Rules" stars competing, contestants from MTV's dating series "Are You The One?" will also be joining the cast. Ahead of the series' Jan. 6 premiere, get to know the 13 teams set to go head-to-head this season:
CT and Diem
Labeled by MTV as the couple with the “longest standing love story” in “Challenge” history, CT and Diem will once again team up for “Battle of the Exes 2.” Diem, who passed away on Nov. 14 from cancer, placed second of “Battle of the Exes” alongside CT in 2012.
“Seeing CT here gives me some sort of relief that somebody is somewhat in my corner,” Diem said in her MTV.com bio. “This 'Challenge' will show what type of relationship we have.”
Jemmye and Knight
The former couple and “The Real World: New Orleans” co-stars will be competing together this season. In her bio, Jemmye said she has “no game plan” for working with Knight, her on-again, off-again boyfriend, who like Diem, passed away in November. “I don’t know what to expect from us as partners,” she said.
Being true to his character, Knight said he was more interested in toying with his former love than winning the cash prize. “I know how to get under her skin very well,” he said. “Sometimes I got a little too far with it, but that’s who I am at times, a habitual line crosser."
Johnny “Bananas” and Nany
This cooky couple’s secret hookup has turned into a season-long partnership for Johnny “Bananas” and Nany. The pair waked away as winners on “Free Agents" but Nany isn’t confident they will be able to pull out another win for “Exes II.”
“Bananas and I usually tried to stay as far away from each other as possible on past 'Challenges,' so the fact that now we are glued together, I don’t know how this is going to work out,” she said.
Jonna and Zach
Their relationship was a key storyline on “Battle of the Seasons,” but their love didn’t last. Now Zach and Jonna will have to put their difference aside and work together on “Exes II.”
“I’ve wanted nothing to do with her since we broke up,” Zach said. “She’s got some animosity towards me so we’ve got to settle that right away if we plan on doing anything in this 'Challenge.'"
Nia and Leroy
Following their behind-the-scenes love affair on “Free Agents,” Nia and Leroy are now going to be forced to rekindle their bond. With rumors Nia will struggle with her “political game” this season, and her denial of ever having a romance with Leroy, things will be tough for this duo. Despite their troubles, Leroy said he is in it to win it.
“I’m a force to be reckoned with,” he said.
Wes and Theresa
Theresa’s make out session with Wes in “Fresh Meat II” is once again, coming back to haunt her. After almost making it to the finals last season in "Free Agents," Theresa will have her work cut out for her if she wants to make it far in Season 26. “Wes and I do not get along whatsoever,” Theresa said.
So why the animosity? According to Wes, Theresa is still upset he didn’t want to make their love official. “She got hurt that I didn’t want to be in any sort of relationship after we had a crush on each other,” he said.
Johnny and Averey
“The Real World: Portland” love birds Johnny and Averey have their work cut out for them this season. The couple reportedly split after Johnny was unfaithful, but the duo will have to put their history behind them if they want to win.
“As far as I’m concerned, Averey cheated on me,” she said. “He has not even said sorry or admitted it to me.”
Jordan and Sarah
Sarah always seems to get the short end of the stick on "The Challenge," and this season isn't any different. She will have to make it work with her former lover Jordan if she wants to finally walk away with a win. Despite having the house villain as her partner, Sarah said she feels confident they could take home the grand prize.
“If he just sits back and lets me run things, then we will have a smooth ride to the finish line," she said.
Jay and Jenna
After cheating on Jenna on “The Real World: Ex’plosion” Jay will have to team up with his ex during his first “Challenge” appearance. Despite Jay’s confession that he still has feelings for his ex, MTV is teasing the idea that Jenna may end up “in the arms” of one of the series’ most “powerful vets in the game.” Could it be Zach, CT, or Bananas? Viewers will have to wait and tune in to find out!
Thomas and Hailey
Thomas’ ex-girlfriend from high school, Hailey, is going to come back to haunt him on his debut season of “The Challenge.” “The Real World: Ex’plosion” co-stars have their work cut out for them if they want to win. According to Thomas, their relationship is still "toxic," and Hailey agrees.
“I wasn’t the best girlfriend to him and he’s still a little salty about that,” Hailey said.
Jessica and Dustin
Their romance on “Free Agents” seemed picturesque, but behind-the-scenes, their relationship was far from perfect. After Dustin ditched Jessica for a new woman following their on-screen relationship, Dustin said he is now in his partner’s mercy this season.
“I didn’t pursue a relationship with her like she thought we would and now my balls are in her hands,” he said.
Adam and Brittany
Season 1 “Are You The One?” stars Adam and Brittany are going to bring their tumultuous romance to "The Challenge” house. “It took my an entire season of ‘Are You The One?’ to get her away from me. I literally had to yell at her to explain that I don’t like her,” Adam said. It sounds like this pair might not be off to the best start.
John “JJ” and Simone
This dramatic pair from Season 1 of “Are You The One?” are back together again-- as exes, that is. While there is no word on how John “JJ” will be do this season, Simone said she has plans to be her loud and brazen self. “I don’t play low-key and I don’t play safe,” she said. Let’s just hope she doesn’t break any windows this time around.
