  • "Battlefield 6" is the rumored upcoming game from EA and DICE
  • The game is rumored to feature a modern-day setting
  • It is also anticipated to feature combat maps that could accommodate 128 players

"Battlefield 6" could be announced in May 2021 and the game is looking more and more impressive as rumors and leaks pile up. The latest information about the upcoming title reveals details about the game's multiplayer map, new location and gameplay elements like weather conditions, among others.

Industry insider Tom Henderson recently shared a rough sketch of the multiplayer player map of "Battlefield 6." While earlier rumors suggested that the game would be set in Kazakhstan, it appears that Henderson's map is different. Apart from the map, which reportedly would revolve on a desert island, Henderson's sketch reveals new extreme weather conditions.

This includes a tornado that would reportedly have a massive impact on the gameplay. The storm in the upcoming shooter title is a real storm and not like the one in "Fortnite," according to the insider. Previously, Henderson mentioned that the game would feature massive storms that destroy environments.

While the precise geographical information about the map is not very clear, it appears to be divided into three areas. The sketch also shows a series of rockets appearing in the map's sky. The "Battlefield" franchise is known for its vehicular combat and it looks like there would be more of it in the upcoming game.

According to the insider, there are between six and eight Osprey vehicles in the air at one time. "Battlefield 6" is also anticipated to feature large-scale combat with maps that could accommodate 128 players. The game could also feature a modern-day setting, which Henderson earlier said would feature controllable robotic dogs that could also be used as a weapon.

If the leaks and rumors are anything to go by, it seems that EA and DICE have something special for gamers this year. Earlier, EA Chief Studios Officier Laura Miele noted that the team is creating "epic battles at a scale and fidelity, unlike anything you’ve experienced before.” The details leaked about "Battlefield 6" are impressive but they are not official. In this case, fans should temper their expectations and take these leaks with a hefty amount of salt.
