Bayern Could Replace Champions League Hero Kingsley Coman With Barcelona's $119M Star: Report

Bayern Munich have reportedly identified a replacement if their Champions League hero Kingsley Coman leaves this summer.

Coman netted the only goal in Bayern Munich's 1-0 win over Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) in the final of the 2019-20 Champions League, which was the Allianz Arena side's sixth top European trophy.

Bayern Munich want to sign FC Barcelona forward Ousmane Dembele as a replacement if Coman decides to depart in the upcoming summer, reported French publication L'Equipe. However, International Business Times could not verify it independently.

Dembele's contract with Barcelona is due to expire at the end of the 2021-22 campaign. The $119 million star has not signed a new deal yet and could leave Camp Nou as a free agent.

After rising through the youth ranks at PSG, Coman made his senior debut with the Ligue 1 side during the 2012-13 campaign, becoming the youngest player ever to play for PSG's first team at the age of 16 years, eight months and four days.

Coman moved to Juventus after his contract expired at PSG. After two seasons in Serie A, Coman moved to Bayern Munich, initially on a two-year loan before signing a permanent contract. The 25-year-old winger's current deal is due to end in 2023 and he has not reached a new agreement with the Bundesliga club.

If Coman doesn't agree to sign an extension, Bayen Munich do not want to lose him for free and will look to sell him in the summer of 2022. Coman has a market value of around $61 million, according to Transfermarkt.

Coman has so far netted 46 goals and has 54 assists in 218 matches for Bayern Munich, across all competitions.

It has also been reported that Barcelona are planning to offer Dembele to Manchester United in exchange for Anthony Martial, who wants to leave Old Trafford for more game time.
