‘Beauty And The Beast’ Star Emma Watson Surpasses Jennifer Lawrence As Highest Paid Actress?
The reboot of “Beauty and the Beast” was a massive success, so it is inevitable that Emma Watson will receive a huge paycheck and a massive boost career-wise.
Watson’s latest role in Disney’s live-action version of “Beauty and the Beast” is expected to boost her earnings significantly. In fact, she is predicted to be the next Hollywood’s highest paid actress in 2017, Daily Mail reported. For two consecutive years, “Joy” star Jennifer Lawrence has been topping the chart. In 2015 and 2016, Lawrence banked $15 million when she appeared in the final installment of “The Hunger Games” franchise.
Meanwhile, Watson earned $3 million upfront to play the role of Belle in the live-action movie adaptation of the classic. However, Watson’s final pay could reach up to $15 million if the film will be as successful as Angelina Jolie’s “Maleficent,” The Hollywood Reporter noted.

Jolie’s “Maleficent” earned $759 million worldwide. Meanwhile, Watson’s “Beauty and the Beast” has raked in $350 million in its first opening weekend and is expected to earn more in the coming weeks.
Watson is no stranger to the hiighest paid Hollywood actresses lists which Forbes and Vanity Fair annually release. In fact, before she even turned 20, the “Colonia” star nabbed the 14th spot of the 2010 list after playing Hermione Granger in the “Harry Potter” franchise. In 2009, her earnings were higher than some of Hollywood’s established stars like Cameron Diaz, Sandra Bullock and Sarah Jessica Parker, all of whom have topped the list in previous years.
Watson is expected to receive more offers in the future after the success of her recent film, Express noted. “I think she has the world in the palm of her hand,” said Liza Anderson. “She is the biggest star in the world right now. She can star in anything. She could produce. She’s America’s sweetheart and a global sweetheart. There’s no better position to be in right now. I’m sure she has Hollywood banging at her door.”
