Bella Thorne Fights Back At Commenter Who Said She’s Giving Bisexual People A Bad Reputation
Bella Thorne is not taking comments about her sexuality lightly.
The actress replied to someone on Twitter who said the latest issue she found herself in has made it harder for bisexuals to escape the stigma that they are cheaters. “Who says because you are bi you must be a cheater?” Thorne said. “What groups do you hang out in girl?”
Thorne has been vocal about her sexuality and how she wants to help people who are still struggling with coming out. In an interview with Paper magazine, Thorne said that her coming out as bisexual cannot actually be considered coming out because she has never denied anything pertaining to her sexuality. Despite that, Thorne said she chose to confirm that she is bisexual on Twitter to make it easier for other people who are struggling to be true to themselves.
“I didn’t want to glamorize it,” Thorne said. “The reason why I did it is for other people’s benefits, [for those who] have the same insecurity that I had. And that’s why I’m doing it. When you do it in a certain way, you just glamorize it so much it’s not easy for kids to relate to. Like a kid could easily write on their Twitter to all their best friends that they’re bisexual and come out like that.”
Thorne said that she was surprised with how supportive people are with her admission, although the actress also admitted that she heard bad things being said about her by studio executives because of her decision to come out.
The actress came out on Twitter in a very casual way. Answering a fan who asked if she is sexually fluid, Thorne simply said, “yes.”
Prior to the admission, Thorne was rumored to be dating her best friend Bella Pendergast. The actress, however, refuted the rumor, saying her best friend is actually dating someone. Thorne’s last relationship was with “Teen Wolf” star Tyler Posey.
