Belmont Stakes 2015: Latest Betting Odds For Frosted, Materiality, Keen Ice And Others Upset Challengers
Judging by much of the media's tone, the 2015 Belmont Stakes is American Pharoah against everyone else. However, there are several top contenders to win the final leg of the Triple Crown on Saturday, other than the Kentucky Derby and Preakness winner.
As of 3:05 p.m. and a little less than four hours before the start of the race, the field has plenty of possible upset specialists. The most promising appears to be Frosted. The upstart is owned by Godolphin Racing LLC, and trained by Kiaran McLaughlin with Joel Rosario as the jockey. There has been plenty of rumblings that Frosted might have an edge on the other challengers in the long Belmont race.
The consensus opinion is that American Pharoah's fate may be similar to that of California Chrome and the several others who have won the first two legs only to fail at Belmont. Affirmed is still the last Triple Crown winner since taking Belmont in 1978. There have only been 11 Triple Crown winners.
Here are the latest odds for all of the contenders in the race:
1. Mubtaahij 15-1
2. Tale of Verve 18-1
3. Madefromlucky 14-1
4. Frammento 19-1
5. American Pharoah 3/5
6. Frosted 7-1
7. Keen Ice 15-1
8. Materiality 7-1
