Belmont Stakes 2017 Betting Odds: Classic Empire, Epicharis Part Of 14-Horse Field
The 149th running of the Belmont Stakes is just 10 days away with some recent news shaking up some of the betting odds for the final leg of the Triple Crown. Kentucky Derby winner Always Dreaming, along with Preakness winner Cloud Computing, will be skipping the race in Long Island, New York.
On Friday, Always Dreaming was listed as a 16/1 longshot, while Cloud Computing had the sixth-best odds at 9/1, according to Bovada.lv.
Classic Empire's odds have not shifted for the 1 1/2-mile race. Trained by Mark Casse, Classic Empire remains a 2/1 favorite after finishing fourth at the Derby and second at the Preakness.
Japan-based Epicharis has the second-best odds at 19/4.
Twisted Tom and Patch saw their odds improve in recent days. Twisted Tom went from 16/1 odds to 14/1 odds, while Patch went from 20/1 to 18/1.
Meanwhile, four competitors saw their odds get worse. Tapwrit went from 6/1 to 10/1, Conquest Mo Money went from 10/1 to 12/1, Gormley went from 12/1 to 16/1, and Irap went from 14/1 to 16/1.
Irish War Cry (9/1) and J Boys Echo (20/1) have been added to the 14-horse field.
The Belmont Stakes, which has a field that is limited to 16 horses, will take place on Saturday, June 10.
