Ben Affleck, Jennifer Garner Update: Exes Sell Shared Mansion For This Much
Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner's relationship may never be more than co-parents and friends after their divorce, so it's no surprise that they decided to let go of the home they bought as a couple.
A real estate source told People last week that Affleck and Garner have sold their mansion in the Pacific Palisades neighborhood in Los Angeles for $31,950,000. The exes' property reportedly closed escrow on Dec. 21.
It took a while before Affleck and Garner were able to sell off the mansion. The ex-couple, who revealed their separation in June 2015 and finalized their divorce in October last year, have reportedly been looking for a buyer for their home for three years now. According to Variety, they initially asked for $45 million for the three-building property.
According to TMZ, which first reported news of the property sale, Affleck and Garner's 8,800-square-foot estate boasts a sprawling ranch-style main house, a basketball court, a pool, art studio, gym, screening room and more amenities.
Garner and Affleck first bought the estate from producer Brian Grazer. Public records revealed that when they first purchased it in 2009, the home was priced at $17.5 million.
The two stayed in this estate for weeks after they announced their separation in 2015. However, they didn't stay in the same house as Affleck apparently moved to the guest house in the property.
When he eventually moved out of their Pacific Palisades estate, Ben Affleck bought a mansion near Garner's place for $19 million.
Last year, Affleck also put down another large property for sale. He listed his 87-acre estate in Savannah, Georgia that he bought in 2003 for sale with real estate agency Engel & Völkers. The "Justice League" bought the property for $7 million back when he was still dating Jennifer Lopez.
Garner and Affleck were married for a decade and share three kids: Violet, 13, Seraphina, 9, and Samuel, 6.
