Ben Affleck Shares ‘Awful’ Experience on ‘Justice League’ Amid Jennifer Lopez’s Praise
Actor Ben Affleck has appeared in countless films, however, the actor recently revealed he had an “awful” time shooting the 2017 “Justice League” movie.
During an interview with The Los Angeles Times, which was published on Friday, Affleck admitted he reached his lowest point while appearing as Batman in the DC Films. “It was really ‘Justice League’ that was the nadir for me,” he told the outlet.
“That was a bad experience because of a confluence of things: My own life, my divorce, being away too much, the competing agendas and then [director] Zack [Snyder]’s personal tragedy [his daughter died by suicide in 2017] and the reshooting. It just was the worst experience. It was awful.”
Affleck claimed the experience made him realize it was time t take a step back from the role. “It was everything that I didn’t like about this. That became the moment where I said, ‘I’m not doing this anymore,’” he recalled.
“It’s not even about, like, ‘Justice League’ was so bad. Because it could have been anything.”
Following the experience, Affleck spent the next few years focusing on more character-driven roles and delivering strong performances. His work role in the film “The Tender,” which was released in late December, earned him praise from girlfriend Jennifer Lopez.
On Friday, Lopez took to her Instagram story to share the PR box she received from the movie, which was also released on Prime Video.
“Oh. A little note to me on what the movie’s based on, all this stuff from the movie in here. Cute,” she said as she went through the box.
One of the items included was a miniature bowling set, which Lopez revealed was connected to a scene in the film.
“There’s a great scene in a bowling alley with Ben and the little boy [Daniel Ranieri],” she explained. “Ben plays his uncle [and] they’re both amazing in the movie. If you haven’t seen it, you should. This is awesome. Thank you, Tender Bar.”
In 2022, Affleck is expected to appear in several films, including “The Flash,” where he will reprise his role as Batman.
