Ben & Jerry’s has brought some great news for ice cream lovers as the company plans to celebrate its Free Cone Day Tuesday by serving free scoops to fans. The Vermont-based company has been offering free ice cream since 1979 as a way to celebrate their anniversary.

Stores participating in the celebration will be giving away free cones between 12 pm and 8 pm. You can find your nearest store using this B&J's store locator. Customers can type in their zip code or address and the locator will find the nearest locations as well as the hours of operation.

"Every time you enjoy a scoop of Ben & Jerry's, you're showing us how much you care. We love you too, and Free Cone Day is our favorite way to show it! This year's extravaganza will be taking place on Tuesday, April 4, so be sure to mark your calendars and grab your friends!" the company wrote on its website.

Apart from the classic flavors like Cherry Garcia and Chunky Monkey, new flavors such as Truffle Kerfuffle, vanilla ice cream with roasted pecans, fudge flakes and salted chocolate and Frozen Flakes, made with cereal milk ice cream and crisp cereal swirls, will be made available.

After the first Free Cone Day in 1979 — one year after co-founders Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield launched the company in a renovated gas station in Burlington — the tradition expanded globally with the company giving out more than 1 million free scoops.

While the policy is to only receive one free scoop at a time, Ben & Jerry's encourages its fans to fall back in line for another scoop if one scoop is not enough.

"You'd better start thinking about the tough decisions you'll need to make: Which flavor? Cup or cone? Who's coming with you?" an event page created on Facebook for the free cone day read. You can RSVP your visit here.
