Ben Stiller Tweets About Death Of Anne Meara; Thanks Fans For Kind Words About Mother

Actor Ben Stiller took to Twitter Monday morning to thank fans for their support after the death of his mother, Anne Meara. The actress and comedian died at the age of 85 Saturday.
Stiller, 49, posted on the microblogging site:
Thank you so much for all the kind words about Anne. All of us in our family feel so lucky to have had her in our lives.

Meara was born Sept. 20, 1929. She rose to fame in the 1960s with husband Jerry Stiller, performing as a comedy team called Stiller and Meara. She landed her first on-screen role in the television series “The Greatest Gift” in 1954, and subsequently had stints on “ALF,” “All My Children,” “Archie Bunker’s Place,” “King of Queens” and “Sex and the City” and Her last credited part is in the 2014 animated film, “Planes: Fire & Rescue.” She is survived by her husband Jerry, son Ben, daughter Amy, and seven grandchildren.
