Best Android Games 2016: 'Pokémon Go', 'Clash Royale' And 'Candy Crush Jelly Saga' Win Play Store Awards
It’s that time of year! The Google Play Store has put together a list of the Best Android Games of 2016. The Play Store’s ‘Best of 2016’ game selection includes highly addicting strategy games like Lords Mobile and indie games like Riptide GP: Renegade.
But which Android game took the Play Store’s ‘Best Game of the Year’ title? Was it Pokémon Go or Clash Royale?
Most mobile gamers would like to believe that Pokémon Go won the award for ‘Best Android Game’ of the year because it was one of the hottest games of 2016. However, Supercell’s, Clash Royale, the follow-up to Clash of Clans, took the Play Store’s ‘Best Game of the Year” title. In Clash Royale, you duel players from around the world in real-time and take their Trophies.
Pokémon Go took the title for ‘most innovative’ game and stayed on the Play Store’s ‘top trending’ games list since it was released in July.
Other trending games include Slither.io, Color Switch and Candy Crush Jelly Saga.
Slither.iO lets you play against other people online. Basically, if your head touches another player, you will explode and then the game is over. But if a player runs into you, then they will explode, and you get to “eat their remains.”
Color Switch, you’ll tap the ball to make your way through each obstacle and your ball will switch color with powerups. Just make sure to not pass through the wrong color, otherwise, the game will start over, again.
In Candy Crush Jelly Saga, you’ll play as Jenny, showing off your moves and take turns switching Candies against the Jelly Queen. Each move will help spread more Jelly and whoever spreads the most Jelly will win that level.
