Looking back on 2011, it was year rife with beautiful style (and even more beautiful style-makers).
The red carpet was aglow with alluring fashions draped on the most gorgeous celebrities, each of whom had women around the world coveting her wardrobe.
Trends ran the gamut in 2011 year. Popular looks included 70s-inspired garments, muted palettes, maxi skirts, colorblocking, polka dots, psychedelic patterns, animal print, pony hair, fringe and heaps of attitude.
Some stand out celebrity fashionistas, each with a unique personality unto herself, proved that modern trends can be made original. Kate Middleton brought back classic femininity while her sister, Pippa, made casual chic look effortless. Jennifer Lopez stood out as a daring diva, both in front of the cameras and while performing on stage. Rosie Huntington-Whiteley showed the world how to wear animal prints. Kate Bosworth rocked haute hippie couture, and will until the clock strikes 2012.
This year, fashion was all about fun and individuality. Of course trends were made and marketed, but fashionistas took those trends to a whole new level and worked them in a wholly unique way. Some matched their 70s-flared pants with a sharp-shouldered blazer, while others decided to pair them with python-print wedges. Some chose polka dots for the red carpet (a la Stella McCartney), while others chose muted minimalism.
