Best iPhone app 2012: Free 'Find My iPhone'
Have you just bought a new iPhone? According to 'Time's 50 Best iPhone Apps 2012' 'Find My iPhone' is the most-must-have app. And guess what? It's free!
When a user misplaces an iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch or even Mac, the 'Find My iPhone' app will let users use another iOS device to find its device and protect user's data.
Installing this free app will register user's iOS device with iCloud when signing up with Apple's ID. This logging on to iCloud will show the location of the lost iOS device on a map. And, even when the device is on silent mode, it will make sound for two minutes at full volume. Deleting personal data remotely is also possible with the device locked.
As for the paid apps, no surprises here - the addictive Angry Bird is in the list of 50 Best iPhone Apps 2012.
The most popular mobile game in the history of the universe is pretty much a must-have just out of sheer principle, Time reported.
Among tons of music applications, Pandora Radio has stood out as a free personalized radio in which user can listen to what they will love. When user input one of their favorite artists or song, Pandora will provide custom 'station' which play music by the same artist or similar artists.
And to music lovers, Shazam is must-have app too. This 4th most downloaded app of all time identifies magically the sound track by just listening to the song. Now, the app has also got LyricPlay to show full-screen visualization of lyrics. One review said, This app keeps getting better! It identifies all the new music I'm hearing on satellite radio and also works with TV shows, TV ads and major sporting events, like the Super Bowl. Very cool. Must have.
Other apps in the list include ITunes U (free education contents of up to 500,000 free lectures), Flashlight (take full advantage of iPhone 4/4S LED light by turning iPhone into a bright flashlight) and LogMeIn (control your home computer right from your iPhone).
