Best Olympic Moments Of 2012: Pistorius, Phelps Top London List
The 2012 Olympics are finally over after 16 days of competition.
There was plenty of history made, as world records were broken in swimming, track, volleyball and other events at the London Games.
Michael Phelps and Usain Bolt continued their unprecedented runs in their respective sports, and the USA basketball and volleyball teams were about as dominant as any clubs in recent memory. Oscar Pistorius overcame amazing odds by racing without either of his legs, and Ryan Lochte surpsised many by winning a gold medal over Phelps.
The Games weren't without controversy, however. Greek triple jumper Voula Papachristou wasn't allowed to compete because controversial statements she made on Twitter. Japan medaled over the Ukraine after a score change in men's gymnastics
Still, the Olympics were watched by millions of people and helped create numerous stars during the course of competition.
