It was a night of celebration at the EE British Academy Film Awards as celebrities poured into the Royal Albert Hall in London on Sunday evening. However, before the stars could kick off a night of recognition at the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) Awards, they had to hit the red carpet.
While there were definitely some stunning looks that were simply breathtaking and deserved a spot on the best-dressed list, there were some stars who simply failed to impress and landed on the worst dressed list.
Kate Middleton looked gorgeous in her white, one-shoulder Alexander McQueen gown. The Duchess of Cambridge completed her look with a pair of Jimmy Choo heels and diamond-and-pearl drop earrings, which she borrowed from Princess Diana’s collection.
Although Margot Robbie, who was nominated for best supporting actress for her role in “Mary Queen of Scots,” failed to take home a win at the BAFTAs, she was victorious on the red carpet.
The 28-year-old wore a Chanel Haute Couture dress made up of 157,000 elements, including sequins, stones and pearls. The gown, which is from Chanel’s Haute Couture spring/summer 2019 collection, took 690 hours to make.
Meanwhile, actress Lily Collins choose to shake things up by rocking a blue Givenchy Haute Couture ensemble on the red carpet. Unfortunately, her fashion choice, which featured a solid top and a sheer lace skirt with detailed floral embroidery, was a bit too dramatic for the BAFTAs.
Elsewhere, Rachel Brosnahan wore a custom floor-length Erdem gown. The emerald ensemble featured embellished straps and a large bejeweled bow that made the actress appear as is if she was heading to prom rather than presenting at the BAFTAs.
