Bob Odenkirk wants “Better Call Saul” Season 5 to be the last. The actor has already filmed what could be the last season, and in a recent interview he said that he would like to see his character Jimmy just one more time before they wrap it up.

Odenkirk was nominated for another Emmy, and he spoke to Extra TV at the red carpet about it. During the discussion, the actor also spoke how soon he expects the TV series to end.

The show has already caught up to the main “Breaking Bad” TV series. Odenkrik said that he personally would like to see just one more season of the show because he doesn’t want the spin-off series to be longer than the main series.

“Breaking Bad” started in 2008 and ended with Season 5 in 2013. Odenkirk said that the main show was the “mother ship” and the spin-off shouldn’t beat that show by making more episodes.

Odenkirk seems to suggest that “Better Call Saul” Season 5 is the last. “We’ll hopefully do one more year and wrap up this story,” he said.

It is unclear if Odenkirk meant the upcoming Season 5 or if he wants to return to the production set to film Season 6. If the show is filmed another year it would overtake “Breaking Bad.”

What may come as some good news to the fans, Odenkirk confirmed that the producers are planning to tell the story about Jimmy that takes place after the events in the “Breaking Bad” series. The spin-off has already been teasing glimpses of the character’s life in the future, and it seems like they are planning to give the fans a satisfactory ending to that future storyline as well. Odenkirk previously said that he is curious to know what happens to his character in the future.

Filming of “Better Call Saul” Season 5 has already wrapped. The producers shared a behind-the-scenes picture of all the cast to announce the end of filming. The show will air sometime in 2020.
