“Wizards of Waverly Place” alum Jennifer Stone shared her Type 1 Diabetes diagnosis with the world two years ago, and now she’s helping to bring more awareness to the condition with her new movie, “The In-Between.”

The upcoming drama follows two women suffering from two different chronic illnesses — Mads Olsen (Stone), who’s living with Diabetes, and Junior Bramley (Mindy Bledsoe), who has Complex Regional Pain Syndrome Type 2 — as they travel across the country to deal with various issues from their past.

International Business Times has the exclusive trailer premiere (watch above), and it illustrates Mads and Juniors’ struggles, fears and insecurities but also their dreams, their personal revelations and their friendship.

Along with starring in “The In-Between,” Bledsoe both wrote and directed the movie, which will be her feature film directorial debut.

“I’ve never been more nervous and excited and terrified to share this story with the world,” Bledsoe posted on Instagram about the experience. “Here’s to following your own path.”

As for Stone, she’s also a producer on the film, alongside Blayne Weaver and Chris Lyon. Stone and Weaver previously worked together on the Christmas rom-com “Santa Girl,” which is expected to be released later this year.

“This was one of the most adventurous experiences I’ve ever had making a movie,” Stone wrote about “The In-Between” on her Instagram in March. “I got to make it with people I loved venturing with and that made all the difference. Do what makes you happy with people that make you happy and don’t wait for people to let you do it.”

"The In-Between" will have its world premiere on Saturday at the Twister Alley Film Festival in Woodward, Oklahoma.
