Beyonce and Jay-Z celebrated their four-year wedding anniversary -- their special number! -- on Wednesday and this year, they have a new component to add to the bliss: baby Blue Ivy Carter.
Fans will be excited to hear that Beyonce, who keeps her life a mystery, will release never-before-seen personal photos on a soon-to-be-created Tumblr account to ring in her fourth anniversary, MTV reported.
But while the couple appears to be famously private with their personal lives, there is a lot of information out there about the dynamic hip-hop duo.
It is unknown when the two first met or the exact date they began dating, but Beyonce first sang with Jay-Z in 2002 on his track Bonnie & Clyde for his seventh album, The Blueprint 2: The Gift & The Curse. Similarly in 2003, Jay-Z did vocals on the track Dangerously in Love on Beyonce's solo album debut.
You've been one of the best friends I could have had apart from this woman beside me (Beyoncé), who I love and who I will marry very soon, Jay-Z said.
Between the track appearances and the proposal leak, the couple remained tight-lipped about their relationship, aside from the countless paparazzi photos of the pair out and about.
Jay and I have kind of made a decision that we want to be known for our music and not our relationships or scandals. But he is amazing, Beyonce told Piers Morgan in 2011. I definitely had a very natural friendship and connection with him. We've been together for a very long time and I'm very happy. Love is the foundation of everything, everything I do. My music is inspired by love - from my family, my husband, my sister.
In 2006, Jay-Z and Beyonce were named the Most Powerful Couple in Time magazine's 100 Most Influential people issue.
Four years ago today, on April 4, 2008, Jay-Z and Beyonce married at a small gathering of close friends and family in Jay-Z's apartment in New York City. The only glimpse into the wedding of the century the public received was a peak at Bey's wedding dress in her Live at Roseland DVD released in 2011.
Ironically enough, the couple wed on the fourth of the month, which they have repeatedly named as their lucky number.
We all have special numbers in our lives, and four is that for me, Beyonce said. It's the day I was born. My mother's birthday and a lot of my friends' birthdays are on the fourth; April 4 is my wedding date along with Jay-Z's birthday.
In 2011, Beyonce announced she was pregnant and gave birth to the most famous baby on the planet, Blue Ivy Carter, on Jan. 7, 2012.
